Excerpts from the Prophets' Creed
A Prophet serves as the very mouth of Augeren, an
arbiter of divine Will and the connection between the
Creator and the people of the Twelve Nations. A Prophet
must always stand prepared to receive and share the
Wisdom of Augeren...
In order to be most receptive to dreams and visions,
a Prophet should abstain from excess, whether in food,
drink or other pleasures of the body. As Augeren speaks
most frequently in the guise of the Dreamer, a Prophet
should perform the proscribed meditation rituals before
retiring, in order to open and prepare the mind.
Furthermore, a Prophet must be aware that the
Wisdom of Augeren is written in the Book of the
Future, [which] is fluid and ever-changing. No Prophet
should attempt to give meaning to the visions sent by
the Dreamer, and must also caution others of the folly
of attempting to fix a future by interpretation... Even the
act of speaking a vision may be interpretation, and a
true Prophet will be most circumspect in carrying out his
duties. Visions and dreams are to be guides only, milestones
along the journey of life.
All visions are true and will come to pass, for such is
the Will of Augeren. What cannot be changed or avoided
must be embraced with equanimity. A Prophet is bound to
share this wisdom with the people, and to provide hope and
guidance through troubled times.
[Most] important is that a Prophet respect the Will of
Augeren and deliver prophecy only to the intended
recipient, as instructed by the Dreamer. To do otherwise
is to defy Augeren's Will and Purpose, a transgression
that may only result in pain and tragedy for all concerned.
Beware an undisciplined tongue!
