Character Creation

Creating a character isn't too bad. Make sure you stop by the Guilds page if you plan on being a Guild member. (It's not required, but it might help.)

The most important part of creating a character will be the background story. We want more than just a two line description. Basically, we're looking for an idea of what the charcter is like, his/her personality, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses.

We're more concerned with your character's story than with his/her statistics. If you want to create a AD&D or GURPS style character, feel free. After all, it'll help when we try to figure out if a character can do something or not. But we're just as willing to accept a verbal description, and a good background story. As long as you can justify it, we're willing to let you get away with almost anything.

As far as equipment: you will be fairly new adventurers, so don't expect to have too much in terms of special items. However, we're not going to cripple you by giving you a specific limit. Come up with a reasonable list of equipment, and we'll discuss it. As with the character's story, we're willing to accept anything that's plausible. Remember, though - if you don't list it, you don't have it. That includes food and water. Be warned that we'll also want to know where you are keeping something. There will be times when you will be caught without your backpack, or your saddlebags, etc., and really want something you left behind. That's life.

At the moment, the main races are Human, Elven, and Half-Elven. Dwarves exist, but are extremely rare. There are other races out there as well (faeries, for example), and we're willing to accept submissions for other races. Remember that non-humans might appear to be younger than they really are, due to longer life-spans. Be sure to check out the Races page for more in-depth information.
